The chronicles of an age ~ an age which began sometime before 1947 when a small group of young boys first became acquainted at a meeting of Cub Scout Pack 15. Before long the time came to decide whether to become Boy Scouts. The decision was unanimous ~ they couldn’t wait. These 14 boys joined a Scout Troop meeting at Springdale Church at the corner of Pine and Lewis Streets in Tulsa Oklahoma. This website tells the story of Troop 14 beginning in 1947. The troop was made up of two patrols ~ The Beaver and The Eagle. Mr. Earl Bittle was our Scoutmaster. Fierce competition, which often bordered on violence, strengthened the troop at the same time. As a result, many (figurative) scalps came to be hung on the troop lodgepole. Superior Scouting skills, companionship and darn good fun was a result. As they moved on into the Senior Scouting Program, their bond of friendship tightened to last for a lifetime. Although the years after graduation from High School and entry into the adult world took a toll on the fraternization, reunions helped maintain the bond. As noted in the Individual Bios we have traveled the world and done a lot. Although we are scattered across the US from Virginia to Oregon, South Carolina to New Mexico, we are always glad to get together whenever we can. Some of us are gone, but we will always “love and remember.”
